X8-H Plus custom build

After spending a week or so trying to get a custom build for the Minix X8-H Plus I decided to put together a how to so no one else needs to go through all these loops to get it working

This was done on Linux, and shame on you AMLogic for only providing a Windows tool for writing the partitions
Wouldn't it make sense to develop a Linux based OS on Linux?

Hello
I have a Vu+ solo2 enigma2 satellite receiver
I cannot find vu+ player app in Google market meaning it is not compatible

Is someone can explain me why ?

What are using to stream E2 satellite receivers ?

Clone a custom img on several boxes?

Hi all,
i have a question about the firmware/img of the Minix X8-H Plus.
I want to know if it would be possible to load a costumized stock img
and clone it to several minix boxes?
So that i dont need to do all the same setting on several boxes.

I am a noob to this android stuff and trying to find a launcher which doesn't look like windows but looks great and allows me to make my minix look amazing on a TV.

To date the launchers I have tried are trying to access input via gestures or on multiple screens , fine for a tablet or phone but not a screen, any suggestions?

At present I'm using the ugly but functional metro launcher that is pre-installed

hey people,

got a few questions about the x8-h plus. I am using finless 1.1 and i am running tvheadend (big thanks to the guys on freaktab) in combination with a sat>ip-server

- how can i get a cifs mounted? if i ssh my box and mount my share everything seems fine. doing an ls via ssh on the mountpoint -> cool, everything visible. but browsing with es or rootbrowser the mountpoint remains empty. creating files or dirs happens local in the mountpoints location but nothing happens on the nas...

Need to alter code for touch screen / source code / modules / linux?

I think I need to alter / add some files to potentially get my touch screen working. I don't know where to start. I'm assuming the firmware updates are compiled. I would need the source code which I doubt is going to be available. Is there a way to create a module and add it to the running system? If I do need to alter source code and compile what set up do I need. I have windows OS and know nothing about linux. Touchscreen support on other setups ends up with a ko file in modules which is not...

Finless ROM app compatibility

I'm using the stock ROM on my minix x8h-plus but finding a lot of apps are not fully compatible ie NBC SPORTS LIVE EXTRA and XFINITY GO. I was just wondering if I flash my x8 to the finless ROM would this fix those issues?

Upgrade Failed - UBOOT run error at RomCode

I accidentally installed the X8 Plus firmware instead of the X8-H Plus, and now I can't put the proper firmware back on the unit.

The unit still powers on and loads up into android, but wifi and ethernet aren't working.

The USB burning tool is returning the error "[0x11020402]UBOOT run error at RomCode"

Anyone has an img file of a finless rom? I can only find a zip version of the rom

I have run into many problems mostly I think are related to the mouse or wifi. Now, I have a rom that boots .. and abrubtly shuts down. ... this happens with any of the stock rom and finless's ... I have tried them all

Hi friends, my name is Bruno and I have a neo x8 h plus and it work just fine in full HD mode but now I have a new TV ultra HD and wen I change to 4k2k 30hz the TV makes some interference some times on the sound and the image shake, on the first time I was thinking maybe could be the hdmi cable, I replaced for better one and it's better but still do the interferences sometimes and now I don't know what to do.

minix team dont support but I give path to openelec for minix amalogic.
only need your wifi chip and kernel config for minix. may be modifiy for s812 and s802 for minix.
all based same. s806 android device use s812 chip
first find to your android kernel config. that identifiy used all chip for minix x8-h-plus
su
cat /proc/config.gz > /sdcard/config.gz
chmod 777 /sdcard/config.gz
unpack config.gz
later merge your config to armlinux config. add your driver for kernel source. wifi binary fw...
